Overview

Outstanding faculty, small class size, and a rigorous curriculum prepare Korea Foreign School students for success in any quality high school and beyond. KFS offers Elementary through High School students a modern education with high academic standards that foster an appreciation and awareness of the world around them.

Accredited by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Korea Foreign School is an affiliated member of the East Asia Regional Council for Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Korea Council of Overseas Schools (KORCOS) and Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). Korea Foreign School is currently an authorized IB World School for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)* and a Cambridge International School offering Cambridge Secondary Programs from G6-10 and the Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma Program for Grade 11-12 students.

Korea Foreign School teaches students a broad and balanced curriculum, which has three basic elements: content, skills, and assessment. In PYP, KFS adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and the National Standards for Social Studies, which all call for higher-level thinking in our core content areas. KFS teaches subjects: English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Art, Korean, Spanish, Design, and  Technology.

All students at KFS take the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test two times a year in September and April.
