Health Services
To ensure the health and well-being of our students, a first aid certified representative is available during school hours to provide first aid treatment, limited emergency care, and medication administration (with clear prescription directions from a doctor or a pharmacist).
First Aid
All staff are trained in First Aid, CPR, and Child Safeguarding and whenever a student is injured at school or requires first aid, the student will be given immediate attention by nurse station duty. Every effort will be made to contact the parents, either at home or at work. If necessary, the local ambulance service will be contacted to take the student to the emergency department at the local hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital, Yonsei University 211 Eonjuro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Medicines should always be provided in the original container as dispensed by a pharmacist and include the prescriber’s instructions for administration (approximate time) and dosage as well as the diagnosis or reason the medication is a need. The medicine with accompanying written statement must be clearly marked with the student’s name, correct dosage, and parent’s signature. Medicine will be kept in the nurse room during school hours. Students with asthma who are able to use their inhalers themselves are allowed to carry them with them.
It is very important that all families provide the school with emergency contact details, including mobile phone numbers, for use in the case of accident or injury. In case of an update in emergency contact list, parents must inform the school right away.
